National Course on Vocational Training was established as an autonomous organisation in pursuance of National Policy on Education 1986 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. National Course on Vocational Training is providing a number of Vocational, Life Enrichment and community oriented courses besides General and Academic Courses at Secondary and Senior Secondary level. It also offers Elementary level Courses through its Skill Bases Certificate Program ). National Course on Vocational Training is an Autonomous Independent and Non–Governmental Board for the conduct of Technical and Vocational Courses, providing an alternative to choose from either Government aided Boards or a Non-Government independent Autonomous Body.
The primary objective of the National Course on Vocational Training is to extend help and support the students from Minority Community and weaker section of the Society with special emphasis on girl education. The mission of the board is not only to educate the students from Minority Community but also educate women, SC/ST, OBC and other disadvantaged persons who are not able to get education for one or other reasons. This also imparts education to down trodden & backwards at concessional fee.
